Level 2B Intermediate ballet is the second sub-section of the second level/stage in the Classical Ballet Sequence training and is taught at a more moderate pace than that of Level 2A. Level 2B still focuses on and executes proper and/or classical ballet training through a fusion of Cecchetti, Vaganova, and Russian ballet methods. Students in this level, just as in Level 2A, must be able to read, because their ballet vocabulary training is taught through the use of sight recognition and portfolio work where the written ballet vocabulary word and its definition are read out loud by each student during each class session. Students will be tested in this level on their knowledge and comprehension of the ballet vocabulary words. This level challenges the students to perform most ballet skills, work, and phrases without the use of the instructor as a guide or reference to look at. Focus on enablement and musical dynamics are strongly emphasized. This class focuses extensively on correct execution, placement, and alignment of ballet skills and formal emphasis is placed upon memory retention.
